- All Special Police Units operating under Superintendents of Police (SPs) and Deputy Superintendents across Tamil Nadu are to be immediately disbanded.

- DGP Shankar Jiwal has instructed that in the future, special units should be formed only on a case-by-case basis, depending on the nature and seriousness of the crime involved.
